NamPower Supports Better Learning through New Classrooms at Otshipya Combined School (Omusati region)

When NamPower first became aware of the challenges facing Otshipya Combined School, particularly overcrowded classrooms and limited infrastructure, the company knew that it could not simply stand by without offering support. This call to action is rooted in our belief that investing in education is one of the most meaningful investments that we can make for the future of our children and our country.

Therefore, on 7 October 2026, NamPower proudly handed over three new classrooms and a storeroom to Otshipya Combined School. Speaking at the handing over event, the Head of NamPower Foundation, Ms. Ottie Mujoro, said that strong schools help to build strong communities - “By improving learning facilities, we are helping to create conditions in which teachers can teach effectively and learners can focus, participate and thrive. We hope that these classrooms will support improved academic outcomes and inspire every learner to gain the knowledge and skills they need to pursue their ambitions and make a positive contribution to their families, their community and Namibia.”

The Principal of Otshipya Combined School, Mr Iyaloo Hangala, thanked NamPower for its vision, commitment and resources that have made this project possible – “your contribution will have an impact that extends far beyond today” he said.

The construction of the three classrooms and storeroom is valued at N$881,919.89.
