- Why hasn't my invoice been paid?
The normal payment term is 30 days from date of monthly statement. Any other arrangements should be finalised with the Creditors Section before the service is rendered or the goods are supplied.
- I would like to be registered as NamPower Supplier (goods or services), where can I obtain more information?
Information can be obtained from the Tender Board Administrator (Walters Cloete) at 061-2052396
- When can I telephone NamPower to give my meter readings?
You can telephone NamPower’s debtors’ section between the 10th and 14th of every month to give your meter readings. The numbers are as follows:
- Irene – 2052761,
- Caroline – 2052977
- Rhano – 2052970,
- Eveline – 2052237,
- Charles – 2052731 and
- Johanna – 2052387.
- What is a RED?
The REDs were established by the Government as part of the restructuring of the electricity industry. They are asset-based companies established to be directly responsible for the distribution and supply of electricity to customers within a defined geographic area i.e. they will take over the electricity responsibility undertaken by the Local Authorities to date. The five REDs for Namibia are: Nored, Cenored, Central Red, Erongo Red and Southern Red.
- How can I apply for electricity?
A customer requests for power supply through the following communication channels:
- Telephonic enquiry
- Electronic enquiry via e-mail: Tuhafeni Paulus
- Prospective customers visiting Electrification at Head Office
- Prospective customers visiting District Offices in the regions
- In the event of a scheme, Electrification approaches prospective customers in that specific area and enquires whether they are interested to apply to be connected to the electricity grid.
In all the above-mentioned instances, the customer is furnished with an application form for power supply. The customer completes the form and signs it.
- How can I apply for jobs?
Vacancies are advertised in the major daily newspapers and are also advertised on the NamPower’s main Website. Prospective candidates are encouraged to approach NamPower’s main reception area to obtain the application forms upon which it must be completed thoroughly. Otherwise the application form can also be downloaded from our website at this link. Application forms are handed out only if there is a vacancy.
- Does NamPower offer bursaries?
NamPower offers attractive options for bursaries to candidates for studies at (Southern African) Universities and Technicons leading to Bachelor’s Degrees or Technical Diplomas in disciplines or areas where the company has identified the need. Bursaries are advertised in the local daily newspapers and prospective students are encouraged to complete the application forms, which can be obtained at NamPower’s main reception area, NamPower regional offices and schools. Application forms can also be obtained from NamPower’s main website at this link. Application forms are handed out only at a time when bursaries are advertised. The bursaries are advertised from middle September to end October every year.
