NamPower turned NamPower Court into commercial accommodation with the aim to create an attractive environment that will cater for the needs of the tourist who visits Ruacana.

NamPower Court was previously used to accommodate single employees stationed at the Ruacana hydro power station. Visiting employees, sent for maintenance or repairs, were also accommodated here.

However, most of the employees at Ruacana are now accommodated in houses in what is known as Ruacana town. This has given the company management the leeway to revise the utilisation of NamPower Court to the financial benefit of the company.

The task was laid at the doorstep of the NamPower Group Investments. The project started April 2003 and the Ruacana Lodge were officially opened on the 9th of October 2003.

Twenty-one double rooms and a family suite were renovated with a very definite ambience reflecting the local environment and people. 15 campsites and six traditional huts, with all facilities were added.In addition to the rooms and camping facilities, the Court has a swimming pool, a conference room, a dining room, an entertainment area, braai facilities and a big, lush garden.
