Kudu Gas to Power Project

Project Financed Construction Works in Namibia

Using FIDIC on Project Financed Power Projects: " KuduPower EPC/Turnkey Contracts"

16 – 17 October, Safari Court, Windhoek, Namibia

NamPower, the national electric utility of Namibia, is developing the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Kudu Power Station (KPS) in south-west Namibia. The KPS Project will be implemented on an Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) turnkey basis and will include full engineering design, supply, delivery, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) Power Plant and the Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation.

NamPower is expecting to issue contracts for the construction of the KPS in the near future. The two day event is intended to facilitate greater understanding of the application of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for EPC/Turnkey Projects as it will be used in implementing the KPS Project. The sessions will be presented by international experts highly experienced in the development of large scale international construction projects on a non-recourse finance basis.

Who will benefit from this event:

  • local and regional contractors and subcontractors
  • local and regional technical and engineering consultants
  • local and regional legal counsel
  • technical and legal staff from power utilities
