What is the aim of the 1mLED Campaign?
The aim of the 1mLED Campaign is to install 1 million light emitting diode (LED) bulbs countrywide in order to reduce the electricity demand by 30 megawatts.
How will the Campaign be implemented?
NamPower has contracted two companies (referred to as the LED Champions) who will physically install these bulbs through a door-to-door approach, by using local town
residents (known as LED Installers), employed by the LED Champions
What are diff erent types of bulbs that will be installed and their wattage ratings?
There are the Edison (screw type), and the Bayonet type of bulbs. The ratings of the bulbs are 9 W (equivalent to a 60 W incandescent bulb) and 14 W (equivalent to a 100 W
incandescent bulb)
What are the criteria’s for a house to qualify for an installation of the LED bulbs?
The house should be legally connected to the national grid and located in a town or settlement with more than 100 electrified houses.
An adult should be present at home and willing to participate in the Campaign.
A data gathering form should be completed and signed off by an adult and the Installer.
There must be incandescent or malfunctioning CFL’s in the critical sockets of the house.
What is the maximum number of LED bulbs that can be installed per household?
6 bulbs based on the critical sockets

How can we identify the installers?
Refer to the installation schedule to identify the champion be will be installing in your town/ suburb.
Installers from Lex technologies: Acid-green overall with reflective jacket, a campaign ID and Namibian ID.
Installers from NamEnergy Resources: blue overall with reflective jacket, a campaign ID and Namibian ID.

Where can I come and collect my bulbs, since I am not home during the installation times?
NamPower has contracted LED Champions to replace the incandescent bulbs, in areas of your house that are mostly on during peak times with the LED bulbs FOR
FREE, through a door-to-door approach. All the bulbs should be installed/ replaced by the LED installer. Home owners will not be able to collect bulbs from NamPower.
