NamPower's owns a world-class transmission system and network. Recently the system supported  four projects of strategic significance to the Namibian economy. • The Ramatex textile investment in Windhoek - 60 MVA transformer was replace by a 160 MVA transformer • The industrial development zone in Walvis Bay - 220kV power line and associated Kuiseb transmission station were completed. • Skorpion Zink Refinery  - connected to the national grid through a 400kV network • Operations at Ongopolo's Kombat mine - development of the Asis Far West Mine. Other recent developments on the transmission network includes: • Automatic voltage regulators at Ruacana and Windhoek • Installation of voltage quality of supply meters • Replacement of surge arresters • Installation of state-of the-art energy meters
