- The incumbent will be responsible for managing the operational and administrative functions within the Office of the Managing Director; coordinate the planning and implementation of the corporate strategy and business plan; ensure compliance with legislation and corporate governance principles and best practices. He/she will ensure that strategic progress and corporate performance is continuously monitored and controlled and that contingency plans are developed to mitigate potential risks identified.

Key Performance Areas: |
- Coordinate the planning, implementation and review of the corporate strategy and business plan
- Monitor and track the implementation of the corporate strategy and consult with the Chief Officers of the various Business Units regarding the realization of their objectives and targets
- Conduct research and compile papers/presentations relating to corporate strategy, legislation and corporate governance for discussion and consideration by Executive Management and the Board
- Ensure that all Business Unit operational plans support the company’s five-year strategic plan
- Coordinate the compilation of a Balanced Scorecard based on the strategic and business plans
- Manage the functional leaders’ performance of all the offices within the Office of the Managing Director
- Provide guidance and training to Chief Officers and Divisional Managers of the various Business Units in the application of the Balanced Scorecard
- Provide continuous coaching and mentoring to functional heads to ensure that strategic and relevant operational performance standards are achieved and pro-actively managed
- Annually prepare budget proposals in accordance with the NamPower financial policy and monitor the approved annual operational and capital budget and maintain proper fiscal management.

Minimum Educational Requirements: |
- Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership/Management/Business Management with extensive experience in Corporate Governance
|
|
Experience Required: |
- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience of which 5 should be at managerial level
|
